Here are my goals, in general order of how important they are to me.
MY PRIMARY, SCARY GOAL- Financial Freedom by 2013, defined as:
- No debt.
- All major purchases paid for with cash.
- Own a house, with no mortgage, debt free.
I don’t know if I will make this goal, but it’s certainly worth working towards! I’d love to have rather substantial savings at this point as well, but we will see how the debt free and saving for mortgage plans go first!
HAVE A SOLID, JOYFUL MARRIAGE
My marriage with Hubs is currently fantastic, and we both work at keeping it that way. He has been married before, and we are both aware that relationships are something we both need to work at. Fortunately, it’s the sort of work with the sort of attitude I enjoy- work that’s pleasurable that leads to greater joy.
GROW MY HAIR PAST MY KNEES
Yes, it’s one of my major goals. To each their own, and for those that think it’s not a good goal… go make your own!
EXPERIENCE JOY EVERY DAY
So far, so good.
HEAL MY BODY, MIND, AND HEART.
I’m kind of messed up in some ways. I know this, and so I work on getting better. These goals break down and I’m sure I’ll post more about them elsewhere!
OWN MY OWN HOUSE
I want to own my own house, free and clear, and have a large and productive permaculture garden in the back yard. I drive poor hubs nuts with pointing out new varieties of cherry trees that will fruit in our zone… when we live in an apartment and there’s no way we’ll be planting trees any time in the near future. My dream involves having as much land as I can, and having something fairly similar to what the amazing people at Path to Freedom have- bees, chickens, geese, a small orchard, and a berry patch along the fence.
Hubs does not care for yards or gardens at all, but wants a nice house. We could have purchased either a cute little house with a postage sized lot, or a nice lot with a cruddy little house, on financing… but decided to get a cheap little apartment and wait, instead. I spend a silly amount of time looking at and for houses.
